Congratulations
to the Berea High School Marching Band as they received a Telly
Award for their 2008 Marching Band Video. The video was
created by Mark Williams with the assistance of videographer
Dave Neylon. Mike Settonni narrated the 30 minute
documentary about the Berea Band and the preparation that goes
into preparing for a marching season. The video was
submitted by Mark Williams and was awarded a Bronze Telly.
The Telly Award is an award
presented by the namesake, New York City-based organization
designed to honor outstanding local and regional television
commercials and productions, and non-broadcast video
productions.
In each category there can be
multiple winners (silver) and finalists (bronze). There is
no stated limit to the number of winners or finalists in any
given category. The Telly Awards web site lists thousands
of winners annually. Official documentation provided to
winners indicates that 7 to 10 percent of over 13,000
international entries receive Silver Telly Awards and 18 to 25
percent receive the Bronze Telly Award.
The Bronze Telly Award received
by the Berea Band is on display in a showcase outside the
auditorium at Berea High School.
